Samir Soni to become a principal now for SOTY 2!
Well-known TV and Film actor Samir Soni, who has featured in several Hindi movies, will be featuring in Student of the Year 2, as per a buzz in a tabloid.
Previously, film Student of the Year saw Rishi Kapoor as the college principal, this time Samir will be essaying the principal.
About his Principal role in SOTY 2, Samir revealed a media source, “SOTY 2 is a fresh story, only the franchise is being carried forward. Rishi is the finest actor we have. He did a fabulous job in the first part and people remember him. I am nervous and excited to step into his shoes, although it’s not the same character. I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
Veteran Rishi Kapoor’s role was gay in SOTY, but Samir’s character is not. “No, he is not gay, but he has his own quirks. He is not the normal, boring principal. He will make you laugh and smile. It’s a film about students, so there will be a fun element,” Samir further revealed.
In the meantime, Student of the Year 2 goes on-floors mid-April and will be shot in Dehradun. Helmed by Punit Malhotra, Student of the Year 2 is scheduled to release on November 23, 2018.
